‘Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart, who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.’ Carl Gustav Jung

Background:

Fiona’s artwork; is informed by the conflicting and contradictory worlds of ‘being’ a fashion designer and yoga teacher. The former looks outward and deals with the 'concept of the ideal', and the latter searches inward and deals with the 'concept of our true nature.'

Style:

Her portrait and figurative works are rooted in modernist authenticity; in other areas of her works, Fiona delicately sidesteps the final throes of postmodernist chaos and embraces ‘Performatism’ in a sincere, direct, uplifting, and even playful sense. This concept, along with ‘Transmodernism’, runs concurrently with the post-postmodernism movement (PoPoMoMo) and is grounded in the positive state of truly just ‘being’.

Aim:

Fiona presents artworks that are colourful and aesthetically simple in design. Her ultimate goal is to invite introspection and dialogue in the collective quest to create awareness and a shift in consciousness.

Although Fiona can adhere to three separate identities / titles / labels / roles: - designer, artist, yogini - she aims to balance and synchronise the three, to just ‘be’ and see the puzzle come together quicker than it can be worked out: ‘It is more fun to connect the dots than to paint dots,’ said one British artist to another British artist, unless of course, one paints the dots oneself.
